The Congress high command has once again expressed confidence in Abhishek Manu Singhvi. After giving him a Rajya Sabha ticket from Telangana, the Congress has now given him the responsibility of legal, human rights, and RTI cell.

Singhvi became the president

The Congress on Saturday reconstituted its Law, Human Rights, and RTI Department and appointed Abhishek Manu Singhvi as its head. The department comprises senior lawyers Salman Khurshid, KTS Tulsi, and Vivek Tankha. According to a statement issued by the party, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal to reconstitute the AICC Law, Human Rights, and RTI Department with immediate effect.

Who else is on the panel

Singhvi has been named the chairman of the department, while the panel includes Khurshid, Tankha, Tulsi, Harin Raval, Prasanto Sen, Devdutt Kamath, and Vipul Maheshwari. The executive panel has Muhammad Ali Khan as its secretary. Aman Panwar, Umar Hoda, Isha Bakshi, Arjun Sharma, Nishant Mandal, Amit Bhandari, Tarannum Cheema, Ningombam Bupenda Meitei, Lalanhului Ralte and Swati Drake are the members of the executive panel.
