Javed Akhtar Pays Tribute to Aamir Khan

At the press conference, legendary writer Javed Akhtar shared heartfelt anecdotes about Aamir Khan’s journey in Bollywood and their long-standing association.

"There are so many characters; I fear I might forget a few. Aamir was born in 1965, and I started in Bollywood in the same year. Aamir’s first film was written by me. While writing Faryaaz in Panchgani for Nassir Hussain, I saw Aamir and immediately told Nassir that he is a star and should start with a romantic film. His first film was produced by Nassir and written by me. My son’s first film was also with Aamir."

Akhtar further praised Aamir’s bold script choices and commitment to new talent, emphasizing his courage to take on unconventional roles:

"Only Aamir could have believed in these characters and stories. He worked with Ashutosh Gowariker even after a flop, took on a new director like Farhan Akhtar for a three-hero film (Dil Chahta Hai), and who else would have taken on a film like Dangal?"

A Cinematic Journey Worth Celebrating

From Lagaan to 3 Idiots, Rang De Basanti to PK, and Dangal, Aamir Khan has constantly redefined storytelling in Bollywood. This film festival is a golden opportunity for fans to relive these classics on the big screen and experience the magic of Aamir Khan’s performances once again.
