New Delhi. Before festivals like Diwali and Dhanteras, the Modi government on Wednesday gave the gift of dearness allowance to millions of employees of the country. The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the increase in dearness allowance (DA) of government employees in a meeting held on Wednesday. This time the government has increased DA by 3 percent, which will be considered effective from July.
The government increases the dearness allowance twice every year. Once the increase is done in January and the second increase is done in July. The increase in DA is always calculated on the basic salary of the employee. Even though your salary will come at the end of this month, we will tell you today how much benefit you have got with 3 percent DA. For this, we have taken an estimated figure of 40, 50 and 60 thousand rupees.
If the basic salary is 40 thousand,
suppose the basic salary of an employee is 40 thousand rupees and he has been given the benefit of a 3 percent DA increase. The salary of such an employee will increase by Rs 1,200. Whatever salary you were getting till the month of September, Rs 1,200 will now be added to it. Not only this, you will get 3 months' DA from July to September i.e. Rs 3,600 more with the salary of October. In this way, you will see that in October you will get Rs 4,800 more than in September, which will include one month's DA and 3 months' arrears.
Now if the basic salary
of an employee is Rs 50,000, then a 3% increase in DA will mean that his salary will increase by Rs 1,500 from October. In this sense, he will get 3 months' arrears i.e. Rs 4,500 more in October, while it will increase by Rs 6,000 compared to the previous month.
How much DA on 60 thousand basic
Those employees whose basic salary is 60 thousand rupees will get 1,800 rupees more every month after the DA increases by 3 percent. In this sense, 3 months' DA i.e. 5,400 rupees will be given as arrears while DA will increase in the October salary and a total of 7,200 rupees will be increased in this month's salary.
