Rajkot: In today's era, the level of anxiety is increasing rapidly among children, youth and the elderly. Due to anxiety, the incidents of suicide are also increasing, and even small children do not shy away from taking a serious step like suicide. In such a situation, the question arises that what could be the reason behind the increasing suicide rate among children? An expert in psychology has shared important information on this.
While talking to Local 18 about the reasons for the increasing rate of suicide,
psychology expert Dr Yogesh Jogasan said that there can be many social, psychological and economic reasons behind the increasing cases of suicide. In today's modern era, children are facing anxiety and pressure at an early age, and studies have also revealed that due to this their suicide rate has increased.
Effect of parental behaviour on children
Dr Jogasan said that parents' behaviour has a profound effect on children. Many times parents compare their children with others, which hurts their mental health and causes depression. As a result, children are attracted to dangerous thoughts like suicide. Apart from this, the chemicals present in fast food affect the brains of children, due to which maturity is seen in them at an early age. Lack of sleep, excessive use of the internet and stressful behaviour of parents are also responsible for this.
Ways to keep children away from the idea of suicide
Most children learn from their surroundings, so we should not behave in front of them in a way that can have a direct impact on their minds. TV and the internet have a deep impact on the minds of children, so they should be kept away from these.
Role of parents in raising children
Parents should raise their children themselves. It is often seen that working parents keep their children busy by giving them mobile phones, which has a bad effect on children. Parents should spend time with their children so that their mental health is not negatively affected. It is also important to keep children busy with different activities and keep them away from outside fast food.
