UPPSC PCS, DSP Height: Do you know which exam you will have to take if you want to become a DSP or Deputy Jailor in Uttar Pradesh? Selection for these posts is done through the PCS exam of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). One cannot become a DSP or Deputy Jailor just by passing the PCS exam, but some physical criteria also have to be fulfilled. In such a situation, it is important to know what should be the height and chest width of the candidate to become a DSP or Deputy Jailor.
How much height to become a DSP?
The full form of DSP is Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). For this post, one has to take the UPPSC PCS written exam, as well as undergo physical measurement. To become a DSP, the height of General, OBC, and SC category candidates should be 165 cm, while for Schedule Tribes (ST) it is 160 cm. Similarly, the height of female candidates in the General, OBC, and SC categories should be 152 cm, while the height of female candidates in the ST category has been fixed at 147 cm. The weight of women of all categories should not be less than 40 kg.
Chest width for DSP
The chest width for the DSP post has also been fixed. For General, OBC, and SC category candidates, it should be 84 cm without expansion and 89 cm after expansion. Whereas for ST category candidates, it should be 79 cm without expansion and 84 cm after expansion. Women are exempted from this.
Criteria for Jail Superintendent and Deputy Jailer
For the post of Superintendent of Jail, the height of the candidate should be 168 cm and the chest width should be 81.3 cm without inflation and 86.3 cm after inflation. To become Deputy Jailer the height of the candidates has been fixed at 168 cm, however for ST category candidates this standard is 160 cm. The height of women should be 152 c,m, while for ST category wo,men the height has been fixed at 147 cm. The chest width for candidates of all categories has been fixed at 81.3 cm.
