UPSC NDA Success Story: Hardik Garg, a resident of Yamunanagar, Haryana, has made a special identity for himself across the country by securing All India Rank 2 in the prestigious UPSC NDA examination. Raised in a family of teachers and businessmen, Hardik's father is a senior lecturer at MMDU, Ambala, who always gave priority to Hardik's education. Hardik had set a goal of making a career in the armed forces at an early age, due to which he was deeply interested in the army lifestyle associated with discipline and service.
Hardik Garg faced many challenges while preparing for
the NDA exam. Despite not being successful in the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview in the first attempt, his peers and mentors constantly motivated him. He considered this failure as a learning opportunity and worked even harder for his second attempt. Hardik also took a lot of inspiration from his roommate and friend Anmol (who secured AIR-1 in NDA 152), and together they gave a new direction to their preparations.

In the year 2019, Hardik was admitted to class 8th at Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC). This step proved to be a turning point in his military career. The strict discipline and disciplined routine of RIMC gave him the necessary abilities of leadership, discipline, and teamwork. Here his daily routine started at 5 am, which included PT sessions, group discussions in classes, and physical activities like sports. All these activities proved to be very helpful for Hardik's overall development.
Inspiration for the youth,
Hardik's success is attributed to his family, teachers, and experience at RIMC. RIMC's disciplinary environment and a strong foundation prepared him for the difficult phase of the exam. Hardik believes that the time spent at RIMC and the difficulties there have made him mentally and physically strong. Hardik's achievement in the NDA exam is an inspiration for every defense aspirant in the country.
