What was the whole matter?

According to the petitioners, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had issued an advertisement for State Agriculture Service Recruitment on 10 April 2024. It was said that 15 candidates would be declared successful for one post for the main examination. But a total of 2029 candidates were declared successful in the ratio of 7 and a half per post. Whereas according to the rules, 4020 candidates should have been declared successful. A petition was filed against this on 18 September 2024 demanding the cancellation of the result of the preliminary examination.

Commission's response to the petition of competitive students

In the petition filed against the preliminary examination result of State Agriculture Service Recruitment 2024, the advocate of the commission said that the condition of recruitment is that the general category candidates have to score at least 40% and the reserved category candidates have to score 35% marks. Proportionately fewer candidates have scored the prescribed marks. Therefore, less than 15 percent of the candidates have been declared successful. He said that the exam result has been declared only after considering the objection raised by the third petitioner on the answer key. On this, the court has directed to present the marks of the petitioner.
