After rescheduling the UGC NET December 2024, the NTA has now released the new exam dates for January 21 and 27 2025. The admit cards will be out very soon alongside the public announcement according to the NTA that was recently made.

Due to the Pongal and Makar Sankranti festivals, the exam has been moved to February. “In the interest of aspirants, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to Postpone the UGC-NET December 2024 Exam scheduled on 15th January 2025 only. The New date of exam will announce later.” A mentioned notice by the officials. Scheduled dates for January 16 will be kept as originally planned and remain untouched.
The UGC-NET 2024 is being conducted for 85 subjects across India through multiple OMR centres. The exam is distributed across two shifts, the first being from 9:30 to 12:30 and the second from 15:00 to 18:00.
The structure of the Mumbai branch consists of two parts: Part 1 consists of 50 questions that are cataloged, worth 100 marks. It consists of questions such as general awareness, reading comprehension, reasoning, research aptitude, and some teaching skills. While paper two comprises 100 questions worth 200 marks covering the selected specialization by the paper holder.
Furthermore, it is necessary for the candidates to note down the requirements for their categories as people from the unreserved category are required to score a minimum of 40 per cent to be able to pass while the people that are from the reserved category are needed to pass with a minimum of 35 per cent for the December session.
The UGC NET Certificate which is issued for the below mentioned requirements is valid for Three Years if you’re applying for Junior Research Fellowship and is valid for Life if applying for Assistant Professor or Lectureship. This exam is conducted in June and December every year.
