Lucknow: A patient of Kala Azar has been found in the Triveni Nagar area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. When a 17-year-old youth of Triveni Nagar got a high fever and doctors examined him, they found that he had Kala Azar. When Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Chief Medical Officer of Civil Hospital Lucknow, was talked to about Kala Azar with Dr. Rajesh, he said that this disease is vector-borne. This disease has come to Uttar Pradesh after many years. Its cases were found in other states like Bihar, Nepal, etc., but this case has been found in Triveni Nagar, Lucknow after many years.
Dr. Rajesh further explains that this disease is caused by the bite of sand flies. To avoid this, special attention should be paid to cleanliness in the house. Along with this, sanitizer should be used. Always use a mosquito net while sleeping and always keep food items covered so that mosquitoes and flies cannot sit on food items. Along with this, pay special attention to the cleanliness of the washroom.
Let us tell you that a 17-year-old boy from the Triveni Nagar area of Lucknow was suffering from a fever for several days. When he went to the doctor to get it checked, the doctor conducted a medical test and found that he was suffering from a disease called Kala Azar fever which is a rare disease and is caused by the bite of sandflies. These flies do not fly but move by hopping.
Sand flies are found in damp and dirty places. This disease was mainly found in districts bordering Nepal and Bihar, but it was considered eradicated by WHO i.e. World Health Organization in the year 2019. There is panic in the medical administration due to this case being found again in the Triveni Nagar area of Lucknow.
