Dementia Risk Factors: Physical weakness can cause many serious problems. We are not saying this, but scientists are saying this. Recently, Australian scientists have claimed in a study that people who are physically weak are at a higher risk of getting dementia, a dangerous brain disease. This study has been done by experts from Queensland University and in this, data of 29849 people above 60 years of age in the US and UK has been collected between 1997 and 2024. This research proves that there is a deep connection between physical weakness and dementia.

According to scientists, out of 29849 people included in this study, 3154 developed dementia. Symptoms of dementia were developing rapidly in those who were physically weak. Lack of physical strength is a problem related to aging, which reduces the flexibility of people's limbs. The result is that the person faces the risk of falling, disability or hospitalization. Lead author of this study, David Ward, said that the 3154 people who were at risk of suffering from dementia had become physically weak about 9 years before facing mental health problems.

Researchers said that if we understand the relationship between aging, weakness and dementia, we can reduce the risk of dementia. This information will help us know what measures we should take so that the quality of life can be improved. If we promote physical activities in time and try to overcome weakness, we can also improve mental health. Dementia is a group of brain-related problems, which causes serious damage to the brain. This problem keeps increasing continuously.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 55 million people around the world are currently suffering from dementia and their number is constantly increasing. Dementia is a serious health problem, which requires the right steps to solve. If we take care of physical health, we can reduce the cases of dementia and also improve the quality of life of the elderly. People over 60 years of age are at risk of dementia, but in some rare cases, young people can also have this problem.
