This relationship is from the time of Bala Saheb Thackeray. Eknath Shinde also felt that by handing over Bala Saheb's party to Congress, Uddhav Thackeray has in a way compromised with Bala Saheb Thackeray's principles. On a question about the seat sharing between BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar's NCP in the upcoming assembly elections, Devendra Fadnavis said that the alliance has reached an agreement on 200 seats. On being asked about the Maratha reservation, Devendra Fadnavis said that Maratha votes have always been received by the BJP and are expected to continue to be received. Devendra Fadnavis said that in the Lok Sabha elections, there was not much difference in votes between the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi.

Devendra Fadnavis, while presenting the figures, said that Maha Vikas Aghadi got 43.9 percent votes and Mahayuti got 43.6 percent votes. In this way, there was a difference of only 0.3 percent votes between the two. Fadnavis alleged that 'vote jihad' is being carried out on the lines of 'love jihad'. For this, he gave the example of the Dhule Lok Sabha seat. Where Mahayuti alliance was ahead in 5 out of 6 assembly seats, but in Muslim-dominated Malegaon, one-sided votes were cast in favor of Maha Vikas Aghadi. Due to this, the results changed.
