UDISE Report: How many schools have computers?
The figures released by the Union Education Ministry regarding the arrangements in schools are shocking. According to the data of 'Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) Plus', only 57.2 percent of the schools in the country have computers in working condition. Similarly, internet facility is also available in only 53.9 percent of the schools in the country. Similarly, 52.3 percent of the schools in the country have ramps with railings.
School Admission: Decline in admission
As far as admission in schools is concerned, there has been a decline in admissions in schools across the country. In the year 2023-24, there have been 37 lakh fewer admissions as compared to last year. Statistics show that the number of students taking admission in 2022-23 was 25.17 crore, while in 2023-24 this number is 24.80 crore. Compared to last year, the number of students taking admission has decreased by 16 lakh, while the number of girl students has declined by 21 lakh.
