School Holiday in Bihar: S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Bihar's Education Department has said that the dates of summer holidays in 2025 will be announced in December 2024 itself. This will give teachers a chance to organize their travel and other plans in advance. The ACS has urged teachers to give homework and project work to the children during the summer holidays, so that their studies are not disrupted.

Siddharth assured that appropriate decisions will be taken regarding winter holidays as well. District Magistrates (DM) have been given the authority to take a decision to close schools if the temperature drops.

Change in the policy of former ACS KK Pathak
It is worth noting that former ACS KK Pathak had not only limited the powers of DM, but also instructed to open schools during summer vacations. The current administration has changed this policy and returned its powers to the District Magistrates. This change is expected to provide relief to teachers and students, and this decision will make the functioning of the education department more smooth and balanced.
