New Delhi. Was Ravichandran Ashwin being insulted in Team India? This question has arisen after the sensational claim of Ashwin's father Ravichandran. Ravichandran has alleged that Ashwin was constantly being insulted and it is possible that this is the reason why the star off spinner has suddenly retired. Ravichandran also said that he too had no prior information about the retirement. He also came to know about it only when Ashwin announced it in the press conference. Ravichandran Ashwin returned to India from Australia on Thursday.

Ashwin's father Ravichandran made many revelations in an exclusive conversation with CNN News18. He said, ‘I also came to know about his retirement at the last moment. I did not know what was going on in his mind. On one hand, I am happy with his decision to retire. But on the other hand, I am not happy with the way he did it. He should have played more.’

Ravichandran could not give any reason for his son Ashwin's retirement. He said, 'It is his wish to retire. I cannot interfere in this. But there can be many reasons for the way he has done this. Only Ashwin knows; it could be because of insult.'

Ravichandran said, 'Surely the family is emotional about this matter because he was playing continuously for 14-15 years. Sudden retirement has changed a lot. This is a shock. Also, we were expecting this because he was being insulted. After all, how long would he have tolerated such things. Maybe he took his decision for this reason.'
