Wayanad. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has filed her nomination from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. Priyanka will face BJP's Navya Haridas in this seat. In the year 2019 also, there was talk of Priyanka Gandhi contesting from Banaras against PM Modi, but she could not contest the election. In place of Priyanka Gandhi, UP Congress's current president Ajay Rai was fielded. However, Priyanka started active politics in the year 2019 itself. But, after five years, it was decided to field Priyanka Gandhi from the Wayanad seat vacated by Rahul Gandhi's resignation.

According to political analysts, the political innings of Priyanka Gandhi, who has earned recognition as the most charismatic leader of the Gandhi family in the current era, can change. Because, if she wins, she can register a strong presence in Congress in the Lok Sabha. Let us tell you that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is the newest member of the Gandhi-Nehru family, who has started contesting Lok Sabha elections. Five years after formally joining politics in 2019, Priyanka is contesting the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election seat.

Who will conquer the fort?
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra filed her nomination papers for the Lok Sabha by-election on Wednesday. All the party leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge were present at Priyanka's nomination. Since Wayanad is considered a stronghold of the Congress, her brother Rahul Gandhi has won from here twice, and Priyanka Gandhi is a very strong contender.

The contest is based on age and experience.
Addressing the crowd after filing her nomination on Wednesday, Priyanka said, "I have campaigned for the party for 35 years, but this is the first time that she will ask for votes for herself. I first campaigned for my father in 1989 when I was 17 years old. I have campaigned for my mother, my brother, and many of my colleagues in different elections."

Navya vs Priyanka
On the other hand, BJP's Navya Haridas is preparing to give a tough fight to Priyanka from this seat. Navya is a resident of Wayanad and is quite popular among the people. 39-year-old Navya Haridas has been a Kozhikode Corporation councilor twice. Let us tell you that Priyanka is contesting the elections here as a candidate of the United Democratic Front (UDF). Navya Haridas is currently the state general secretary of the BJP's Mahila Morcha. Navya has an engineering degree and has also worked as a software professional.

How important is the RSS background?
Navya's family is associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh family. After marriage in 2009, Navya moved to Singapore, but when she came to India in 2015, she contested the local body elections and won. Later, she became a councilor once again in 2020. In the 2021 assembly elections, Navya contested from Kozhikode South seat on a BJP ticket, but lost.

But despite this, she continued to work in the area. Perhaps this is the reason why the BJP has tried to give a tough challenge to Priyanka Gandhi by fielding Navya against her. This seat is considered safe for Congress because it is Muslim-dominated. Due to this equation, in 2019, Rahul Gandhi contested from Wayanad along with Amethi. Rahul Gandhi lost in Amethi and he won from Wayanad by a huge margin.
