New Delhi. The monsoon session of Parliament is going on. During this time, the Congress had brought a no-confidence motion against the Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar in the upper house of Rajya Sabha, which was rejected. Let us tell you that the Vice President of the country is the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. The notice of no-confidence motion given by the opposition demanding the removal of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has been rejected. In this way, now it cannot be presented in the House. Let us tell you that the no-confidence motion brought against the Chairman is debated in the House, but after the rejection of the notice, this will not happen now.
Sources said that in his decision presented in the House by Rajya Sabha Secretary General PC Modi, the Deputy Chairman said that the impeachment notice is part of a conspiracy to defame the constitutional institutions of the country and defame the current Vice President. At least 60 opposition members had signed a notice on December 10 to remove Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar from his post. It was alleged that they do not trust him and he is biased.
What did the Deputy Speaker say?
While giving the verdict on the no-confidence motion brought against the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker said that the seriousness of this personally targeted notice is devoid of facts and its purpose is to gain publicity. He also believed that this notice was an audacity to deliberately insult the high constitutional post of the Vice President of the largest democracy. After Speaker Dhankhar distanced himself from it, the Deputy Speaker was entrusted with the responsibility of dealing with the notice.
Flaws in the no-confidence motion notice
Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh said that the notice of no-confidence motion was brought with the aim of creating a narrative against the person holding the second highest constitutional post in the country. He told that even the name of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was not written properly in that motion. It is being told that the documents and videos were not mentioned in the no-confidence motion. The Deputy Chairman said, 'What is worrying for the reputation of Parliament and its members is that this notice is full of claims to defame the current Vice President, mentioning the events of the time when he took office in August 2022. The lack of authenticity in the notice and the events that came to light later showed that it was an attempt to polish political propaganda.'
