When addressing a group of Mahayuti Mabers of the Legislative assembly in Mumbai, Prime Minister Modi joined the rest in receiving their message on the vision of governance. He said that together there should be work towards the common goal such that there is no distance between them and the people.

The meeting was meant to strengthen the ruling Mahayuti’s approach to administration, and Modi spoke about the need to connect with the people and work together to achieve something. He suggested to the MLAs that development requirements of their areas be taken into account.

ROADMAP FOR MAHARASHTRA

Modi spoke about building the constituents’ faith in one another and said that leaders should be around their people to celebrate the good times as well as share the sadness. He added, “After you are elected, even if that person has not voted for you, give him support. Consider them all as your fellows.

He provided the instance of MNS president Raj Thackeray going to Gujarat to study developmental models and urged the MLAs to gain knowledge from progressive projects in other states or constituencies. They were asked to make goals and then work towards achieving those goals.

The roadmap for good governance he expected of the MLAs was exemplified in the Prime Minister’s speech. He cautioned the legislators to ensure that there is a work-life balance in their lives and pointed out that it is important for them to relate with the community but there is also the need to spend time with loved ones.

To this end, he advocated developing bonds with the people through holding social or even religious functions.

COALITION UNITY

A recurrent theme in the meeting was strive for cohesion in the coalition. Modi urged the MLAs of all three Mahayuti partners – BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP – to work together. He said collaboration is key to good governance and advised the lawmakers to engage ministers from different parties, go out for casual dinners and stop treating each other as adversaries.

He also added that this internal cohesion will only enhance and fortify the existing alliance and create pathways for achieving the targeted aspirations. He advised especially against the blame game or unnecessarily attacking the opposition.

“Instead of engaging in rhetoric, engage in action when facing opposition and focus on serving the people,” he said, outlining the necessity of responsibility but in a positive manner.

As per information contained in the statement given by an official of the state government, Modi addressed the MLAs during a luncheon held in the INS Angre auditorium. The Chief Minister Devendra fadnavis along with his counterparts mega Shinde and Ajit Pawar alongside a majority of the MLAs belonging to BJP, NCP, Shiv Sena alongside some recent allies were all reported to be present.
