This can prove to be an important step towards the treatment of uterine cancer. Know in detail in this article what has been found in the research...
Cancer can be detected early
The study's researchers say that by recognizing common symptoms of stomach problems (swelling, pain, or feeling full soon after eating), early cervical cancer can be detected in up to a quarter of people. Also, when cancer is detected with the help of such triggering symptoms, there is a higher chance of successfully removing the cancer cells completely in 60 percent of cases. Previous studies have found that symptoms of cervical cancer can start appearing anywhere between three months to three years before diagnosis.
How the study was conducted
For the study, published in the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer, researchers recruited more than 1,700 women from hospitals who were tested for symptoms of abdominal problems. About 7 percent of the women were diagnosed with the most dangerous form of cervical cancer.
However, cancer did not interfere with the lives of any of these women. The reason behind this could be their being physically active or doing some other daily physical activity. It is worth noting that out of these 7 percent or 119 women, almost 90 percent were post-menopausal women.
Good news
The findings of the study show that if common abdominal symptoms are identified in time, it can prove to be a big step in the treatment of uterine cancer. This can also help in removing uterine cancer more efficiently.
