New Delhi. Finland's company Nokia has sealed a multi-year, multi-billion dollar deal with Bharti Airtel. Under this, Nokia will install 4G and 5G equipment in major cities and states of India. According to this contract, Nokia will deploy devices from its 5G AirScale portfolio. These include the latest generation of base stations, baseband units, and massive MIMO radios, all powered by its energy-efficient 'ReefShark system-on-chip technology'. The statement said, “Nokia has been awarded a multi-billion dollar extension contract by Bharti Airtel for deploying 4G and 5G equipment in major Indian cities and states.”
The capacity of Airtel's 5G network will increase.
These solutions will enhance Airtel's network with exceptional 5G capacity and coverage and support its network evolution. Nokia will also modernize Airtel's existing 4G network with multiband radios and baseband equipment that can support 5G. This partnership will also deliver an environmentally friendly network.”
Nokia's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pekka Lundmark said that this strategic agreement will further strengthen the company's presence in India.
