Modi Cabinet Decision Today : The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday approved seven major schemes related to the agriculture sector. These schemes will be funded with an expenditure of Rs 14,000 crore. This includes the Digital Agriculture Mission and a scheme for crop science. This decision was taken in the Union Cabinet meeting held here under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed about the decisions taken in the cabinet. He said that the Cabinet has approved a Digital Agriculture Mission of Rs 2,817 crore and a scheme of Rs 3,979 crore for crop science. He said that a scheme of Rs 1,702 crore for the sustainable health of livestock along with a program of Rs 2,291 crore to strengthen agricultural education and management has also been approved.

860 crore scheme for horticulture

Apart from this, the Cabinet has also approved another scheme of Rs 860 crore for sustainable development of the horticulture sector. Vaishnav said that the Cabinet has also approved a scheme of Rs 1,202 crore for Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Rs 1,115 crore for strengthening natural resource management. The total allocation for these seven programs related to the agriculture sector is more than Rs 13,960 crore.
