A section of netizens are speculating if former US president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama are heading for a divorce because the former first lady will not be at the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump on January 20.

An X user posted a screenshot of Barack Obamas old letters from traces of him in 1982 where he admitted he thought of making love to men and accompanied it with “ I think Barack and Michelle Obama are heading for divorce”. Amusingly, this is the second time Michelle has missed an official function in the past month. Former president Jimmy carters were seen attending his funeral by himself.

The office of Michele and Barack confirmed, “Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. Former First Lady Michelle Obama will not be attending the next inauguration.”

Dating back to 1989, Barack and Michelle Obama married in 1992 and have two children together.

However, as previously reported by the New York Post, Michelle Obama had an intention to purposely miss attendance during the event.

Obama's close follower made a remark and told the newspaper that, " She’s never pretended to be something that she isn’t or been insincere, she is ususally careful and considerate of when and how she arrives to places."

Further on this, the individual added, “She was there because she had no choice. Although they tried, it was never a requirement for her to join Trump. There was nothing she was required to say. It is rather telling that she is not here.”
