New Delhi: The Kho Kho World Cup 2025 mega fourth attracted the attention of the indian men’s kho team as they absolutely annihilated Peru with a score of 70-38 on day 3 of the event at Indira Gandhi indoor stadium. This is the third victory achieved in a row by Pratik Waikar and Co, helping facilitate the dreams for quarter-final qualification along the way.
The first tag on Peru was achieved by Sachin Bhargav while the visiting team dodged for a timeframe of 40 seconds. Never took long to notice the attacking side once again as for the first batch of defenders were off the mat in 90 seconds once the Indians opened the gates of the game.
There was a beautiful sky dive by Ankit Pote which let them get a head nob on over the Indians as the Peruvian defenders delayed them beautifully, only twenty seconds from completing their dream run in the second batch. And once again there was a brilliant Pote’s portion whereby once they began to fully gather points, now there were sky dive as well.
Thanks to a couple of tags made by Pratik Waikar, the last batch of Peru defenders were sent back into the dugout which had a time duration of 23 seconds.
Consdiering the airflow of the game, during the first turn the hosts showed dominance as without conceding a dream run, added 36 points with the help of Aakash Singh and Ramji Kashyap who tagged two more batches.
Aakash shows poise as Peru gets ready to tag.
Even though he was too close to the Peru attackers, Aakash Singh displayed composure and resisted any contact with the Peru team while doing some clever movement and settling into position. But the Indian team still was not able to fulfill their goal of completing the dream run.
The second group of Indian supporters also drifted off when they were in position to make a miraculous run.
The sky dives from the attackers in Peru were not as effective as expected, as the Indian players, who were on the defence, were quite on their toes and managed to mount the attack without any difficulty. The Indian team was unable to add to the dream run in the second round so they didn’t score any points, however, they were able to prevent the Peru team from scoring more than 16 points at the end of the first half.
After adding 34 points in the third quarter, the chase score jumped to 70-16. In bringing down the deficit, Peru did manage to chase 22 points in the last quarter more than was scored in the second quarter for a total of 28. But these were all puny attempts because India was in such a healthy position against their rivals from South America.
