The thugs calling in the name of Maharashtra Crime Branch threatened to implicate Kanchan in drug supply. Her mobile was hacked. Out of fear, she sat in front of the mobile from 2 pm on Friday to 11 am on Saturday and could not talk to anyone. The thugs scared the nurse so much that she refused to get up even to drink water.

Nurse Kanchan Inwati was threatened by thugs through a fake video call to implicate her in drug smuggling. She was kept under 'digital arrest' for 21 hours. The matter came to light when her friend Renuka Kodape came to meet her, but the thugs also threatened her by trapping her in a video call. The thugs also asked Renuka for her mobile number and deposited 50 thousand rupees in their online account by telling her that she was involved in a drug case. After this incident, the police have started investigating the matter and have advised people to be cautious of such fake calls.

Through a fake video call, the thugs extorted 50 thousand rupees from Kanchan Inwati, a nurse at Khandwa District Hospital, by keeping her under 'digital arrest' on the charges of drug trafficking. Due to the threat of the thugs, friend Renuka Kodape also transferred the money and went to the bathroom,, and asked for help through a letter to the neighbor from the window.
