Hemant Soren Cabinet Decision: The Jharkhand government has taken a big decision regarding Agniveer Yojana. State Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that Agniveer jawans from Jharkhand who are martyred during duty will be honored on the lines of the Jharkhand Police. Apart from this, their dependents will be given government jobs and an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh.

At the same time, the Soren government has given a big gift to the electricity defaulters of the state. The pending bills of domestic consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity per month have been completely waived off. The proposal related to this was approved in the cabinet meeting held on Thursday evening under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said that the number of consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity in the state is 39 lakh 44 thousand 389. Waiving their pending bills will result in an additional burden of about Rs 3,584 crore.

44 proposals got approval in the cabinet

Before the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand, the cabinet approved a total of 44 proposals, which included many populist decisions. The cabinet has also approved the reinstatement of 10,388 additional Anganwadi workers in six districts of the state, Dhanbad, Dumka, Godda, Chatra, and Koderma. They are known as Poshan Sakhi. The service of these workers, who were working under the centrally funded scheme to eliminate malnutrition in these districts, ended about a year ago. Now they will be reappointed. According to another decision, more than 79 thousand cooks and assistants working to prepare mid-day meals in the state's schools will now be given an honorarium for 12 months instead of 10 months every year.

DA was also increased

The dearness allowance of state government employees has been increased by nine percent. Now they will receive a 239 percent dearness allowance instead of 230 percent. The cabinet has also decided to increase the seats in residential schools run by the welfare department in the state. At present, the capacity of the hostels of these schools is 16 thousand 368 students. Now the number of seats will increase to 37 thousand. The government has given a one-year extension to the commission working to identify Jharkhand state agitators. Now the commission will work till July 14, 2025.
