Karachi. After India refuses to go to Pakistan, PCB's hosting of the Champions Trophy 2025 is in danger. After India's refusal, the ICC has sought a response from Pakistan regarding hosting the tournament in a hybrid model. The PCB confirmed on Sunday that it had received an email from the ICC that the Indian team would not go to Pakistan.

A source said, 'If the PCB does not back out from hosting all the matches of the Champions Trophy, then it is certain that India's matches will be held in the UAE and the final in Dubai. The Indian Cricket Board has told the ICC that it accepts the hybrid model provided the final is held in Dubai, not Pakistan.' The PCB did not comment on this decision of the BCCI on Monday. However, according to sources, the ICC has asked the PCB whether it accepts the hybrid model in which India's matches and the final will be played in Dubai. The ICC also said that under this it will get the full hosting fee and most of the matches.

The source said that in case the PCB refuses to host the tournament, the entire tournament can be held in South Africa. Earlier, a source in the Pakistan Cricket Board had said that it would seek clarification from the ICC regarding hosting the Champions Trophy as it has only been told that the Indian team will not come for the tournament but no information has been given on the proposal of the hybrid model.

A well-informed source in the PCB had said, "There has been no talk about conducting the Champions Trophy on a hybrid model." The hybrid model was adopted in the Asia Cup last year when India's matches were held in Sri Lanka and the rest of the matches in Pakistan. The source said, "The PCB will talk to its legal advisors and send an email to the ICC seeking clarification on India's decision. The PCB is in touch with the government for consultation and instructions if needed."

Meanwhile, there is speculation in the Pakistani media that the Pakistan government may advise the PCB to avoid playing with India or take legal action in the sports tribunal against the ICC and BCCI. The Indian team has not visited Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. Both teams play each other only in ICC tournaments.
