JEE Success Story: Sometimes the advice of loved ones in life is so good that the future becomes bright. A girl got such advice from her uncle. After this, she started flying with her dreams. When she was in class 9th, her uncle told her about the IIT and JEE exams, which gave wings to her ambition to do well in engineering. Till that time her studies were limited to the school curriculum, but her uncle's guidance expanded the scope of her thinking. The girl we are talking about is Palak Vishwakarma.
Palak Vishwakarma hails from Badalpur in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. She grew up in a village and was inclined towards mathematics since childhood. Palak could not get the desired result
in the first attempt at JEE in the year 2022, but this failure made her stronger. She made a bold decision to take a break of one year and try again. Despite the concerns of the family and the perception that repeating students are less successful, she had faith in her goal. With the support and confidence of the family, she prepared with all her heart, the result of which she got in the form of IIT Bombay.
After being admitted to Civil Engineering,
Palak Vishwakarma decided to visit Mumbai, which started with a short vacation and turned into a six-month journey. After the result came, when the possibility of admission to IIT Bombay came up, this trip actually became the beginning of a new life. During JoSAA counseling, seniors advised me to give preference to the institute rather than the branch in IIT Bombay. Following their advice, I opted for civil engineering.
Adjusting to the new environment at IIT Bombay
Initially, the atmosphere at IIT Bombay felt overwhelming. Being away from my family, especially without the company of my sister and cousins, was tough. Making friends was challenging initially, but gradually I built a supportive friend circle by participating in clubs and activities. I did miss home-cooked food, but I learned the art of adjusting tomessys food and the company of friends.
My journey at IIT Bombay has not been just about getting a degree; it has also been a path of self-discovery and personal growth.
