You must have heard this quote many times, 'Water is life', but do you know that water can also prove fatal? Water is being said to be the reason for the death of the great martial artist 'Bruce Lee' at an early age. Research was done in the year 2022, which revealed that 'hyponatremia' was responsible for the death of Bruce Lee. This is a disease in which the brain swells and the main cause of this swelling is water. At the time of Bruce Lee's death, doctors had said that brain swelling was the cause of death. But, in the Clinical Kidney Journal, scientists told about 50 years after his death that Bruce Lee died due to drinking too much water.

Bruce Lee died because of water

Recently, another research paper has come out regarding water. A team from the Research Institute of McGill University Health Center (RI-MUHC) in Canada said in their research that drinking too much water can greatly increase the risk of fatal 'hyponatremia'. According to the researchers, when we drink too much water, there is a deficiency of sodium in our blood. This causes swelling in the brain. This is called hyponatremia, and this happened with Bruce Lee, due to which he died.

Drinking too much water can cause swelling in the brain

This research shows that water is a necessity of our life, it keeps the body hydrated. But this same water becomes the cause of death due to some carelessness. When the amount of water in the body decreases, it is called dehydration. Similarly, when the amount of water increases, it is called overhydration. According to the report, when there is too much water in our body, the kidneys are unable to remove the excess fluid.

Drinking too much water reduces the amount of sodium in the blood, which is called hyponatremia. This condition occurs when the sodium level in the body becomes very low. This can cause headaches, vomiting, fatigue and even swelling in the brain.
