Former RTO Constable Saurabh Sharma's Story: This is the story of Saurabh Sharma, who was a constable in the Transport Department. Saurabh Sharma is originally from Morena in Madhya Pradesh. Actually, his father was a health officer in Gwalior Jail, so his family lived here. Saurabh's early education took place here. Saurabh Sharma's dream was to become an IAS. He wanted to become a big officer, so after completing his college studies, Saurabh went to Delhi with his brother. Staying there, he started preparing for the Civil Services Exam of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). In a media report, quoting an old friend of Saurabh and his neighbor in Gwalior, Ashok Saluja, it has been told that Saurabh completed his college studies from Gwalior itself. Then after that he went to Delhi with his elder brother Sachin to prepare for UPSC.

Saurabh did not get selected.
In this report Ashok Saluja tells that both the brothers started preparing for competitive exams in Delhi but Saurabh could not get selected for UPSC or PCS, while his elder brother Sachin got selected in Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission. Even after this, Saurabh continued to prepare for civil services, but did not get success.

Saurabh Sharma's dream shattered by father's death
According to his friend and neighbor Ashok Saluja, Saurabh's ancestral house is right next to his. Even the roofs of both the houses are connected to each other. Saluja has told the media that his house was built in 1992, while Saurabh's house was built in 1988 itself. Saluja says that when Saurabh was preparing for civil services, his father died of a heart attack in the year 2015, after which he quit preparing for UPSC and Civil Services Examination. Saurabh Sharma was appointed as a constable in the State Transport Department in 2015 on compassionate grounds. After which he took voluntary retirement VRS in the year 2023. He says that Saurabh was of calm nature in childhood. He used to live in Bhopal after getting a job in the Transport Department. His mother Uma Sharma was active in politics. Three people in her maternal family were DSPs.

Why did Saurabh Sharma come into the limelight?
In fact, the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta police raided Saurabh Sharma's place, in which 234 kg silver and crores of rupees in cash were recovered from his hideouts. After this, the Income Tax Department found 52 kg gold and 10 crores in cash from his associate's car. Four agencies are investigating Saurabh Sharma's case, including DRI, Income Tax, ED and Lokayukta. Currently, Saurabh is absconding. His lawyer had applied for his anticipatory bail in Bhopal District Court, but it was rejected.
