Before the Delhi Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big gift to the people of Delhi. The Union Cabinet has approved the expansion of the Delhi Metro. Rithala-Kundli corridor will be built. This will increase the connectivity of Delhi to Haryana. This will be the fourth phase of the Delhi Metro. Rs 6230 crore will be spent on this 26.463 km project.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed about the cabinet decisions. He said, the government has set the completion time of this corridor as four years. This corridor will be the fourth extension of Delhi Metro in Haryana. Currently, Delhi Metro is being run to Gurugram, Ballabhgarh, and Bahadurgarh in Haryana. This line will be an extension of the Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) - Rithala (Red Line) corridor. This will increase connectivity in some parts of northwestern areas of Delhi like Narela, Bawana, and Rohini.
There will be a total of 21 stations
in this corridor. The special thing is that all the stations will be elevated. According to sources, when this project is completed, the Rithala-Narela-Nathupur corridor will also connect Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda station in Ghaziabad, UP to Nathupur in Haryana via Delhi. This will improve connectivity in the entire Delhi-NCR.
85 Central Schools will open
Vaishnav said that the cabinet has also approved the opening of 85 Central Schools and 28 Navodaya Vidyalayas. Under the Navodaya Vidyalaya Yojana, the establishment of 28 new Navodaya Vidyalayas has been approved in the backward districts of the country. Rs 5000 crore will be spent on this. PM Shri Yojana was launched to implement the new education policy. All Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas were designated as PM Shri Schools to make them a model for other schools.
