The political temperature in Maharashtra is hot due to the election results. Meanwhile, news is coming that the CBI will now investigate all the bitcoin scams that have happened across the country. So far 40 such cases have been registered across the country, in which the police are investigating. According to sources, the CBI will take over all these cases. Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule has also been accused of being involved in the Bitcoin scam. A CBI team is already investigating it.
In the Supriya Sule case, the CBI on Thursday questioned auditing company employee Gaurav Mehta. Mehta has been called on Friday, more questions will be asked from him. Retired IPS officer Ravindranath Patil has described Gaurav Mehta as a witness in the scam. According to Patil, Mehta had contacted him several times in the last few days and shared information about the 2018 cryptocurrency fraud investigation. According to Patil, Mehta had shared 10 voice notes on the Signal app, which contained audio clips of Supriya Sule, Congress leader Nana Patole, IPS officer Amitabh Gupta and Bhagyashree Navteke.
How the case was revealed
Earlier on Wednesday, the CBI had registered a case against Amit Bhardwaj and Aman Bhardwaj. Along with this, four other accused were also named in this case. In this case, the ED had searched Gaurav Mehta's Chhattisgarh locations under money laundering. This case came into the limelight when the retired IPS accused NCP (SCP)'s Supriya Sule and state Congress chief Nana Patole of being involved in a cryptocurrency fraud case in 2018 and using this fund in the Maharashtra assembly elections. The former IPS then filed a complaint with the police and the Election Commission and demanded an investigation.
What does the retired IPS claim?
The former IPS officer claimed that he was hired as a cryptocurrency expert to investigate the case in 2018, but in 2022 he was arrested on charges of fraud. He said, then I kept wondering what happened, what was the whole matter , and why I was implicated. After the allegations of the former IPS officer, the BJP termed it a big scam and demanded an immediate investigation. It was alleged that the money received from the Bitcoin scam was used in the assembly elections. On the other hand, Supriya Sule has termed it as mere speculation. He said, fake audio clips are being deliberately spread. My voice is not in the audio clip. At the same time, Nana Patole called it another attempt to influence the elections.
