There has been a major reshuffle at the organizational level in the Congress. Many veterans have been removed, some youngsters have entered. The list of new secretaries and joint secretaries of the Congress was released on Friday evening. It has been said that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed the following party officials as AICC secretaries/joint secretaries associated with the respective general secretaries/in-charge with immediate effect.

According to a press release issued by the party's organization general secretary KC Venugopal, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge appointed secretaries and joint secretaries of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for various states and union territories. These officials will be associated with the party's general secretaries and in-charges in the respective states.

Where the changes happened

  • Pranav Jha and Gaurav Pandey, who were handling coordination responsibility in the Congress President's office, have been made AICC secretaries.
  • Vineet Punia, who is playing the role of AICC Secretary under the party's communication department, will continue to perform this responsibility.
  • However, along with him, Ruchira Chaturvedi has also been appointed as Secretary in this department.
  • Two former MLAs of Rajasthan, Danish Abrar have been appointed as secretary for Delhi, and Divya Maderna for Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
  • Former All India Mahila Congress acting president Neta D'Souza and former NSUI president Neeraj Kundan will work as AICC secretaries along with the party's organization general secretary KC Venugopal.
  • Dheeraj Gurjar, Pradeep Narwal, Rajesh Tiwari, and Tauqeer Alam will continue to work as AICC secretaries in Uttar Pradesh as before.
  • Subhashini Yadav, daughter of former Union Minister late Sharad Yadav, has also been appointed secretary.
  • Deepika Pandey Singh, Minister in the Jharkhand Government, has been relieved from the responsibility of Secretary.
  • As Secretary, Himachal Pradesh co-incharge Rajya Sabha member Ranjit Ranjan has also been relieved from this responsibility.
  • Qazi Nizamuddin, a member of the Uttarakhand assembly, will continue to be the secretary, although he has been made co-in-charge of Maharashtra instead of Rajasthan.
