Bengaluru Crime: There is a debate about the safety of women in Bengaluru. The murder case of 29-year-old Mahalakshmi is making headlines. On September 21, her mutilated body was found in the fridge in her flat. The killer had stuffed the body in 30 pieces in the fridge. Regarding the murder, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has confirmed that a suspect has been identified, who is probably in West Bengal.

He said efforts are on to arrest the suspect, though no one has been detained at the moment. Mahalakshmi was living in a one-bedroom apartment in Vyalikaval area. She was living separately from her husband. After the incident, her husband also reached the spot.

BJP targeted the Karnataka government

Citing concerns over the safety of women, the minister assured that the government is taking all necessary safety measures, including free CCTV cameras and other initiatives. Meanwhile, the opposition party BJP demanded the resignation of Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, accusing him of irregularities in the purchase of medical equipment. Commenting on the matter, the Home Minister said, "I do not have information about this. Let's see."
