Lucknow. Yogi government has given a big gift to crores of electricity consumers of Uttar Pradesh before Dussehra. Electricity rates will not increase in UP. UP Electricity Regulatory Commission has rejected the proposal of UPPCL. Electricity rates will not increase in UP for the fifth consecutive year and bills will be collected at the previously fixed rate. Uttar Pradesh is the first state to do so. The regulatory commission has also rejected the proposal to increase charges for many items including connecting and disconnecting connections. Yogi government has announced a subsidy of 17.5 crores this year.

The state's electricity companies had demanded an increase in electricity rates, but the Electricity Regulatory Commission refused to increase electricity rates for the fifth consecutive year, giving a festive gift to consumers. Not only this, the corporations had given proposals for disconnecting and connecting connections and various types of charges. The Regulatory Commission rejected these demands as well.

The regulatory commission took other important decisions. The proposed fee of Rs 50 for connecting or disconnecting the connection of the smart prepaid meter was rejected. The proposal to charge Rs 10 for SMS was also rejected. Consumers can take 3 phase connection at 3 kilowatts.

The corporations had shown a loss of Rs 11203 crore which was rejected by the commission. Electricity consumers have been provided more relief. Electricity companies will not be able to increase the load of electricity consumers arbitrarily based on every three months report. According to the new system, while increasing the load, a report of one year will be studied. The load will be increased on that basis.
