New Delhi. A new chapter has been added to the rivalry between Tesla and SpaceX owner Elon Musk and Amazon's Jeff Bezos. Musk has accused the Amazon founder of advising his friends to sell Tesla and SpaceX shares during the presidential election. Completely denying these allegations against him, Jeff Bezos has said that this is 100 percent false. Even before this, there has been a dispute between Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin and Musk's SpaceX are in fierce competition in the field of space exploration. Bezos' Project Kuiper excluded SpaceX from its launch contracts in 2022, fueling speculation about a personal rivalry between the two. Musk accused Bezos of putting personal rivalry above practicality.
The controversy started with a tweet.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, claimed in a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), "Revealed tonight at Mar-a-Lago that Jeff Bezos was telling everyone that @realDonaldTrump will definitely lose, so they should sell all their Tesla and SpaceX shares." Bezos immediately responded to Elon Musk's allegation, saying, "Absolutely wrong. 100% false." Musk responded to this sarcastically, "Okay, so I take back my words." Musk also added a laughing emoji to his comment.
Musk helped Trump a lot during the election.
During the presidential election, Elon Musk helped Donald Trump a lot. Jeff Bezos, on the other hand, adopted a restrained approach. Elon Musk not only donated billions of rupees to Trump, but also campaigned for him. After Donald Trump won the presidential election, Tesla's shares have risen by 40%. Trump also participated in a SpaceX launch in Texas this week, which further strengthens their partnership. After the election, Musk admitted that if Trump had lost, his companies would have been in trouble and they would have been ruined.
Jeff Bezos did not publicly support Trump or his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election. His newspaper Washington Post also refrained from electoral support. Bezos had said, "Supporting for the presidential election creates the perception of bias. Eliminating them is the right step."
