IAS: An association of IAS officers has made a surprising demand. The IAS Officers Association in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh has built a private 48-seat mini theatre where bureaucrats can enjoy movies with their families in a safe and comfortable environment.

Officials and their families visit this theatre on weekends to relax. Recently, this association has requested the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber to screen newly released films in their theatre. Interestingly, they have also requested that this screening be done for free.

Officers get movie passes

Traditionally, senior officers like IAS and IPS get complimentary movie passes at regular theatres. However, his unique request for free screening at his private facility is a new challenge for the film chamber. It remains to be seen how the chamber reacts to this unusual appeal.

A decision on the demand has not been taken yet

According to Deccan Chronicle, Telugu Film Producers Council general secretary T Prasanna Kumar confirmed receiving the request from the Andhra Pradesh State Film and Television Development Corporation and the IAS Officers Association. He said that though no decision has been taken yet, the film fraternity has always maintained a positive relationship with the state bureaucrats, and they are ready to discuss the proposal.
