New Delhi: The winter session of Parliament has been witnessing uproar so far. Due to the uproar created by the opposition, no work has been done so far. Today, on Thursday, there was uproar in the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. It was the time of Question Hour in Lok Sabha. The entire opposition, including Akhilesh Yadav's MPs, was creating uproar. Then TV's Prabhu Ram i.e. Arun Govil raised an important question related to the common man. On this, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also had to say that this is a very important issue.
In fact, BJP MP from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Arun Govil raised his voice against pornographic content on OTT platforms in the Lok Sabha during the Question Hour. He said, 'What is being shown on the OTT platform is very obscene. This content coming on the OTT platform cannot be watched together in the family. This has harmed our moral values. Can the minister tell us what is the existing mechanism to stop sex content on social media platforms? And the said law is not very effective in preventing the misuse of these platforms. The government has a proposal to make the existing law more stringent.'
Union Minister responded
Union IT Minister Ashwani Vaishnav responded on this matter. He said, 'This is an important topic. Earlier there used to be a check before bringing anything in the media but now all the checks have been abolished. Due to the end of the editorial check, social media is a big medium of freedom of the press. But at the same time, there are many types of vulgar content with uncontrolled expression. There is a need to bring more stringent laws but for this,s we need to bring a consensus in it.'
The opposition created a lot of ruckus.
This important issue came up in the Lok Sabha at a time when the entire opposition was creating a ruckus. Due to the ruckus created by the opposition members on many issues, the Lok Sabha meeting was adjourned for the day within 10 minutes of resumption after being adjourned once on Wednesday. As soon as the proceedings of the house began, the Congress members stood up at their seats and tried to raise many issues. Referring to Bharatiya Janata Party member Arun Govil, they said that he is asking a question for the first time in the question hour, so the proceedings of the house should be allowed to continue. However, the ruckus did not stop and the sloganeering of the opposition members continued. After this, the proceedings were adjourned for today.
