A case has come to light in which an air hostess returning to her home in east Delhi was allegedly dragged and molested by an e-taxi bike rider. Police said the incident took place last Wednesday night on Simon Bolivar Marg near Buddha Jayanti Park when the woman was returning to her home in east Delhi by taxi. Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahala said that based on the woman's complaint, the police arrested the accused, identified as Jaiveer (35), from Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh.

An FIR has been registered against him under sections 74/76/109(1)/115(2) of the Indian Penal Code at the Chanakyapuri police station, a police official said. Police sources said the accused is suspected to be involved in criminal cases in the past. In her complaint, the woman told the police that she had hired an e-bike to go to Dwarka on Wednesday night.

The woman told the police that the driver also asked her to bring him ice cream. According to the FIR, after traveling for a few kilometers, the driver took back his mobile phone from the woman and took a wrong turn. When the woman asked about it, he told her that it was a 'shortcut'.

The source said that after this the man stopped the bike at a deserted place and dragged the woman between the trees and when she tried to make noise, he beat her up. The source said that a couple passing by stopped their car when they saw the woman in trouble. He said that when the driver saw that the couple was coming towards him, he ran away and left his two helmets there.

According to the source, the couple dropped the woman at a nearby metro station. Police said they are checking Jaiveer's past records and investigating the case.
