It is a matter of ancient times that a king named Tungadhwaj ruled in a city. That king was very fond of hunting. One day the king went to the forest to hunt. When he got very tired while hunting, he started resting under a banyan tree to remove his fatigue. In that forest, the king saw that many people were worshiping Lord Satyanarayan together. The king was full of pride. Due to his pride, the king neither bowed to Lord Satyanarayan nor accepted his prasad. After that, the king returned to his city after hunting.

When the king returned to his city, he saw that his kingdom was attacked by the army of another kingdom. Seeing such a condition of his kingdom, the king immediately understood that he had insulted Lord Satyanarayan and disrespected his Prasad. Due to this, his kingdom had become in such a condition. As soon as he realized his mistake, the king immediately ran towards the forest. The king went to the place where the story of Satyanarayan was going on and prayed to the Lord for forgiveness for his mistake and asked for Prasad and accepted it.

The king repented for his mistake with a true heart. Seeing this, Lord Satyanarayan forgave the king and as a result, the king's kingdom became like before. After that, the king became an ardent devotee of Lord Satyanarayan and started worshipping him. With the grace of Lord Satyanarayan, the king handled the responsibility of that kingdom for a long time. It is believed that any devotee who listens to or reads the Sawan Purnima Vrat Katha with a true heart, all his wishes are fulfilled and the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi also keep showering on him.
